Providing fuel-efficient cooking stoves to families in Mbuji-Mayi, DRC — reducing deforestation, improving indoor air quality, and saving families money on firewood every single day.

In Mbuji-Mayi, most families cook over open fires using three-stone stoves — an inefficient method that burns through large amounts of firewood, produces dangerous smoke, and contributes to deforestation of the surrounding region.
A better stove means a mother spends less time collecting firewood and more time with her children.
ACN's Fuel-Efficient Stoves project distributes improved cooking stoves that use up to 60% less firewood. Families spend less money on fuel, breathe cleaner air, and spend less time collecting wood — freeing up hours each day, particularly for women and children.
Donate to This ProjectWe procure and distribute improved biomass stoves to families in Mbuji-Mayi who are currently using open three-stone fires for cooking.
Families receive training on how to use and maintain their new stoves correctly to maximise fuel savings and longevity.
By burning less firewood, the project directly reduces the rate of deforestation in the Mbuji-Mayi region and lowers household carbon emissions.
A donation of $50 can provide a fuel-efficient stove to a family in Mbuji-Mayi, saving them money every month and improving their health. All donations to ACN are tax deductible — we are DGR endorsed.

Every stove donated saves trees, saves money, and improves the health of a family in the DRC. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
