In this modern as well as post-pandemic world, there is a dire need for everyone to have some basic skills which they can further use to start their own micro-businesses. In societies such as Congo, where people are finding it very difficult to survive, they can use their basic skills such as sewing, etc., to make their survival easier. For this purpose, AusCongo Network is starting its Sewing Social Enterprise Project to help people in learning the basics of sewing and to help them start their own micro-business and improve their life skills.
Challenge:
Due to a lack of proper teaching programs and sewing lessons, people who are familiar with the basic life skill of sewing but need some lessons to improve it, and also those people who had a mindset to start their own micro-business to improve their lifestyles, are facing a lot of challenges. Despite having proper determination, the Congolese people are unable to start their own businesses and even are not able to have better job opportunities because of their improper English.
Solution:
For this purpose, AusCongo Network has started their Sewing Social Enterprise Project where both Congolese men and women would be given sewing lessons, would be taught the basics of starting their own microbusinesses, and would be given opportunities to improve their English and job opportunities, which would eventually change their life styles.
